Townhouse in Antwerp

2024

Antwerp - Berchem

Welcome to one of the most stunning residential projects we've had the pleasure of working on. This magnificent townhouse in Berchem, Antwerp, carries with it the timeless beauty of original Vincent van Duysen designs from his early career, making it a true gem of architectural heritage.

The project was a comprehensive renovation, design, and styling effort that respected the integrity of the home's original craftsmanship. Key historical features like the marble fireplaces were meticulously restored, while the intricate wooden flooring was lovingly brought back to life, honoring the craftsmanship of the past. The highlight of the renovation is the bespoke, massive walnut desk—a piece that epitomizes the artisan quality that runs throughout the home.

In terms of styling, we stayed true to the home’s storied past, keeping original elements that tell the history of the house and the family that lived here. These heritage details were complemented by contemporary design, like the bold, minimalist touch of Belgian design icons Muller Van Severen, creating a harmonious dialogue between old and new.

Art plays a significant role in the home’s ambiance. The walls feature stunning black-and-white photography by renowned artist Stephan Vanfleteren and captivating paper works by promising young talent Axel Goossens.

This project is not just a renovation; it's a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and art, brought together in one of the most beautiful homes in Antwerp.
